What Google Ads services cost in Romania in 2026
The most common answer when you ask an agency how much Google Ads services cost is: it depends. That is true, but not sufficient. Depends on what? This article gives you real numbers with the context needed to compare the proposals you receive.
There are three main ways to manage Google Ads: agency, freelancer, or in-house specialist. Each has a different cost profile and a different risk profile.
Agency prices for Google Ads in Romania
Fixed monthly retainer
The most common pricing model. You pay a fixed monthly amount regardless of your ad budget. Prices vary significantly depending on agency size and account complexity.
- Small or boutique agencies: 2,500–4,500 RON/month per channel. Usually 1–2 specialists, portfolio of 10–20 clients. The price covers management of a single channel (Google Ads or Meta Ads).
- Mid-size agencies: 4,500–9,000 RON/month per channel. Team of 3–10 specialists, more structured processes, standardised reporting. Suitable for budgets of €2,000–€10,000/month per channel.
- Large or international agencies with Romanian presence: 9,000–22,000+ RON/month per channel. More complex account structures, extended Google and Meta resources, multi-channel management, dedicated account manager.
Important: prices above are per channel. If you manage both Google Ads and Meta Ads, multiply by the number of channels. A client with both channels pays 5,000–18,000 RON/month in management fees, before media spend.
Percentage of managed budget
The second common model: the agency takes 10–15% of the monthly ad budget on top of the fixed retainer. At a €2,000/month budget per channel, that means an additional €200–€300/month in management cost. At budgets of €5,000+/month, the percentage is usually negotiated to 8–12%.
The advantage is aligned incentives: the agency earns more when you spend more efficiently. The disadvantage: at large budgets (€15,000+/month), the percentage can exceed the real value of the work done.
Hybrid model
A fixed retainer per channel plus a percentage of managed budget. Concrete example: 2,500 RON/month retainer per channel plus 10% of ad spend. At a €2,000/month budget, the total management cost per channel is approximately 3,500 RON. The most equitable model for both parties at medium budgets.
The simple rule: management cost should not exceed 20–25% of the total ad budget. If you are paying 3,000 RON management for €500/month in ads, the maths does not work.
Freelancer prices for Google Ads in Romania
Freelancers are a valid option for small budgets or companies that want more direct control. Prices are lower, but the risks are different.
- Junior freelancer (1–2 years experience): 1,500–2,500 RON/month. Usually Google Ads certified but without experience across diverse industries. Prices have risen significantly since 2022–2023, driven by inflation and high demand for digital specialists.
- Mid-level freelancer (3–5 years): 2,500–5,000 RON/month. Experience across multiple campaign types (Search, Shopping, Display). The most in-demand segment in the Romanian market.
- Senior freelancer (5+ years, former large agency): 5,000–9,000 RON/month. Experience equivalent to an agency specialist, often with international background. Disadvantage: limited availability, no backup team or guaranteed continuity.
The main risk with freelancers is not competence — it is continuity. If they fall ill, go on holiday, or drop your account, your campaigns are unmonitored. An agency provides structural continuity.
The cost of an in-house Google Ads specialist
If you have monthly budgets of €5,000+ or accounts with high campaign volume, an in-house specialist may be more efficient long-term. Real costs in Romania in 2026:
- Net salary — junior specialist: 3,500–5,000 RON/month.
- Net salary — mid-level specialist: 5,000–8,000 RON/month.
- Net salary — senior specialist: 8,000–14,000 RON/month.
Add to these: employer costs (approximately 25% above gross salary), tools (SEMrush, SpyFu, Optmyzr: €100–€300/month), training and certifications (€500–€1,500/year) and supervision time. The real cost of a mid-level in-house specialist exceeds 8,000–12,000 RON/month all-in.
The advantage: they know your business in depth. The disadvantage: they manage a single account, so they lack the comparative perspective a specialist with 10–15 active accounts develops over time.
What is included (and what is not) in a Google Ads service price
The management service price usually covers: campaign setup and restructuring, weekly bid and keyword optimisation, monthly reporting and client communication. What is usually not included:
- Display banner and creative production: separate cost, usually 200–800 RON per banner set.
- Tracking setup (Google Analytics, Tag Manager): some agencies include initial setup, others invoice it separately (500–1,500 RON one-time).
- Landing pages or page optimisation: separate service, unless the agency also offers CRO.
- Custom reports or live dashboards: sometimes included, sometimes additional cost.
Before comparing prices, clarify what each proposal includes. An offer of 800 RON/month that includes tracking setup and weekly reports may be more valuable than one at 600 RON/month that includes none of that.
How to calculate whether the price you are paying makes sense
The simple formula: divide the monthly management cost by the real hours invested in your account. A specialist managing 15 accounts with a 5,000 RON/month salary has approximately 160 hours available. Divided across 15 accounts, that is about 10 hours per account per month.
Ten hours per month means 2–2.5 hours per week. That is sufficient for a simple account with 2–3 campaigns. It is not sufficient for an e-commerce account with 50+ campaigns and a product catalogue.
Ask directly: how many hours do you estimate you invest in my account each month? Any answer below 8 hours for a complex account is a signal that it will not be managed properly.
Signs that you are paying too much or too little
You are paying too much if:
- Management cost exceeds 25% of total ad budget and the account is simple.
- You do not receive clear reports and do not have direct access to the account.
- The agency cannot explain what they optimised concretely in the last month.
You are paying too little if:
- The price is below 500 RON/month for an account with active Search, Shopping and Display campaigns.

- Your specialist manages 30+ accounts simultaneously.
The right price for Google Ads services is not the lowest one. It is the one that reflects the real effort needed to correctly manage the volume and complexity of your campaigns.
What to do before signing a contract
Request a detailed proposal specifying: estimated monthly hours, which campaigns are included in management, optimisation frequency and report format. Compare at least 3 proposals, not just on price but on what each includes.
The simplest way to verify whether a price is realistic: calculate the implied hourly cost and compare it to the market. A mid-level Google Ads specialist in Romania has a market cost of 60–120 RON/hour. If a proposal implies a cost below 40 RON/hour, either the workload is underestimated or the quality matches the price.
